Our mission is to nurture and conserve high quality, educationally profound and widely accepted distance education. We work to ensure that the accreditation framework by OKOLA lays importance on structural regulations for the improvement of educational institutions and education itself, as a whole.

OKOLA (Organization for Online Learning Accreditation) is an internationally recognized, independent accrediting body. It works in pursuit of promoting and accrediting online universities that offer quality distance education.

OKOLA was created with the concept to promote and regularize the ongoing standards in the field of distance education and it has been quite successful in doing so. Presently, it offers the most progressive, latest and most refined accreditation program that represents and covers all areas of distance learning methods.

  OKOLA Councils

There are certain councils that regulate the work patterns of our agency and establish the norms and other regulating factors. Below, you can read information about each council

Controlling Council: This council is founded to keep an eye on any upcoming or existing problems related to the field of online distance education. It surveys the methodology employed in various distance education institutions and also recommends standards and polices for the commission to lay down practices to govern the members of the Agency.

Recognition Council: This council will identify the best performing individual or an institution as a whole for its performance during the year. These nominations are selected by the Accrediting Commission only.

Finance Council: This council will study and recommend ways to determine equitable dues. It is assigned the demanding task of developing the annual budget which would be approved by the Commission and presented at the annual meeting of the Agency.

Appointing Council: This council will be comprised of officers and replacement members to the Accrediting Commission. Public members of the Commission and the Commission's officers will be elected by the Commission itself and Commissioners from OKOLA -accredited institutions will be elected by members of the Agency.
